Welcome to Paisley Petunia…part two!

I find inspiration in pretty pictures, endless possibilities in a bowl of Meyer lemons, the meaning of lifetime devotion in the wagging tails of our 3 rescue dogs, end-of- the-day bliss in a glass of red wine and now, the boundless, soul clutching meaning of life in the faces of my 2 little angels.

It's a happy, creative, joy-full life we've got here in the LA sun. Come play! Bring wine.

Hat trick

JackieKennedy

{Most. Beautiful. Ever.}

This posted started out to be about hats. I really love them and wish wish wish it was more appropriate to wear them on a regular basis. I have a big sunhat which I wear occasionally but I’m talking about hats circa Jackie O’s pillboxes , Audrey Hepburn’s big black saucer and Faye Dunaway as Bonnie with her bad girl beret.  I love fascinators with pingy, little feathers. I love demure, birdcage veils. I swoon for them all.

Anyway, I would wear hats and fascinators all the time but sadly in this day and age and even more so here in flip-flop-beach-hat-capital of the world anything beyond a simple straw job looks ridiculous. There are a few exceptions -look at how gorgeous my friends in hats are…

{Look at S in her beret she looks lovely!}

But I digress.

This post started out to be about hats but it’s going to end up being about my new girl crush…Kate Middleton. I know I know she has been around forever and there are probably some people out there who think she isn’t the right girl to marry a would be king but I love her. She is beautiful, stylish, poised, successful at keeping her lady bits tucked away and being the good Brit she is she wears great hats!  She really is elegant beyond her 27 years. It might take some women a lifetime (um, some maybe two or three lifetimes) to garner such grace.

    wow to be in such stylish company, it must be a mistake :) I too adore Kate. She seems wise and stylish beyond her years.

    Oh, she’s so pretty. And pulls off the hats brilliantly. =) I don’t think I’m much of a hat person, though.

    We lived in London for several years and wearing hats there was more the norm. I still had a tough time pulling it off. One needs gobs of polo and charity events to frequent in order to get some good mileage out of them. Not happening so much here in the midwest.

    I love Kate! She shows such class in her fashion choices despite being so young (just saying, my 20s weren’t my proudest moments of fashion). I wish I could wear hats more – they just don’t fit into my lifestlye (which involves, sine I work from home, being in my PJs until about 5:00 p.m.).
