Welcome to Paisley Petunia…part two!

I find inspiration in pretty pictures, endless possibilities in a bowl of Meyer lemons, the meaning of lifetime devotion in the wagging tails of our 3 rescue dogs, end-of- the-day bliss in a glass of red wine and now, the boundless, soul clutching meaning of life in the faces of my 2 little angels.

It's a happy, creative, joy-full life we've got here in the LA sun. Come play! Bring wine.

A Treat for Charity

Have It Sweet's Fleur de Sel Uncut Caramel

Have It Sweet's Fleur de Sel Uncut Caramel

A few weeks ago, in a moment of absolute craving for something sweet, salty and divinely chewy, my fingers quickly roamed over my keyboard and brought me to Etsy.com. Etsy is good for lots of things, like homemade crochet scarves and vintage dresses. But, did you know you can also order homebaked goodies and treats? Well, yes’siree, you can.

If you know me, you know I have an insatiable sweet tooth. I love anything with caramel. Or toffee. My two favorite things ever. Don’t even get me started on the Butterscotch Budino at Pizzeria Mozza. It pretty much rocked my world with its creamy caramel and sea salt combo.

Speaking of…a few taps and clicks later, a package of 4 logs (total 1lb) of Fleur de Sel Uncut Caramel was on its way to my mailbox. The thing that really got me was their description of the item: “Wrappers? You don’t need no stinking wrappers.” In these hard economic times we’re all looking for a great deal…look no further. It’s our same amazing caramel but in bulk so you can cut as big (or as little) a piece as you like. It’s also much better for the planet, everybody wins!

No wrappers? You mean, no evidence of exactly how many you have eaten in one sitting? Sign me up.

Have It Sweet is a great little husband + wife shop creating artisan candies with organic, all natural, and preservative free ingredients in a kitchen in Southern California (and packaging them in environmentally friendly materials). I was especially happy to read that they are dedicated to making the world a better place and actively donate a % of their sales each month to the micro finance non-profit, Kiva. They believe in offering loans to assist small businesses owners (just like them) across the world to get their businesses started.

So, now onto the good stuff. Upon arrival, your package will look like this:

Opening the Package...

On top is a package of complimentary individually wrapped Holiday Gingerbread Caramels:

And the final treat:

4 Beautiful Logs of Uncut Caramel

And it was delicious.

No photos of the actual candy, as I ate it all. But it looked exactly like the photo at the top of this post!

You don’t really need me to tell you how amazing it tastes, I think you need to order it youself to find out. And with each treat you get, you are helping a local candymaker and global entrepreneurs achieve their dreams. How sweet is that?
