Welcome to Paisley Petunia…part two!
I find inspiration in pretty pictures, endless possibilities in a bowl of Meyer lemons, the meaning of lifetime devotion in the wagging tails of our 3 rescue dogs, end-of- the-day bliss in a glass of red wine and now, the boundless, soul clutching meaning of life in the faces of my 2 little angels.
It's a happy, creative, joy-full life we've got here in the LA sun. Come play! Bring wine.

Music Man
My dear friend Matt is quite the music guy. I always depend on him to tell me who is new on the scene and who I should be listening to. I try to slyly quiz him on new people I have heard of, but to no avail, he has already heard of them and has a new suggestion for another up and coming artist. He is also a good sport when our friends try to imitate his charming London accent, even though we have heard it for 10 years now, it never gets old.
One thing this little blog (and my life) can use right about now is a fun new soundtrack. I asked Matt – who I am proud to brag – was voted one of Billboard magazine’s “30 Under 30 Power Players in the Music Business” for some suggestions on new artists to check out. He is always helpful in expanding my horizons, getting me to try different styles of music and usually injecting a good amount of British and European exports.
Some fun beats to pump up your Friday, courtesy of Matt:
Newcomer Gary Go is a British singer songwriter and producer whose debut album was recently released in the UK through Polydor. ”Wonderful” is a catchy, melodic pop song in the same vein as James Blunt’s smash hit of a similar name. Definitely one for the future, check out Gary Go’s myspace site for a quite beautiful cover version of Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance”.
The Big Pink are an electro-rock duo from London, England [yes, lots of British music this month I'm afraid!] and this track, “Dominos”, is the first single taken from their debut album “A Brief History Of Love”. Catchy, moody, and quite distinct from anything else out there right now, this band are poised for big things. Named one of the BBC’s breakout acts of 2009, they are currently climbing the charts Stateside, recently peaking inside the top 5 of Billboard’s “Heatseekers Chart”. Keep an eye out for these guys…
Dizzee Rascal: “Bonkers”
Taken from Dizzee Rascal’s new album “Tongue N’ Cheek”, “Bonkers” is a collaboration with famed dance music DJ Armand Van Helden, and is one of the most fun and energetic tracks of Dizzee’s career. With a typically light-hearted but innovative music video to boot, this is definitely worth checking out.
Random brilliant video of the month:
Neurosonics Audiomedical Labs Inc. from Chris Cairns on Vimeo.
What else is there left to say? That would be a stage show worth the price of admission…
