Welcome to Paisley Petunia…part two!
I find inspiration in pretty pictures, endless possibilities in a bowl of Meyer lemons, the meaning of lifetime devotion in the wagging tails of our 3 rescue dogs, end-of- the-day bliss in a glass of red wine and now, the boundless, soul clutching meaning of life in the faces of my 2 little angels.
It's a happy, creative, joy-full life we've got here in the LA sun. Come play! Bring wine.

*Sorta Do It Yourself.
I am constantly amazed at all the crafty, creative bloggers out there. Like her and her and them.
I’m not exactly there…yet, er, probably won’t ever be, but I like to try. And I like pretty things. So a few months ago, while my friend and I were marveling at the cutely styled jcrew catalog (and saying no way would I pay that much for a cardigan!) I found this tutorial on Mismatcherie: How To Embellished Cardigan.
Bookmarked it and thought maybe I could give my nice and cozy grey sweater a little adornment.
You know how it goes, weeks go by, the extra fabric from an old Forever 21 shirt hangs as a reminder on my mirror, the sweater remains lonely and plain in the dresser, or the floor, or wherever I left it.
Randomly inspiration strikes, or is it boredom? One night while watching tv, I grabbed the pink ruffly fabric and the sweater. I don’t know how to sew. My mom does, she made all of our Halloween costumes as a kid. Like a plump and glamorous Miss Piggy for a 5 year old Stephanie. (I’ll share pictures one day).
This is where the “sorta” comes in. I am not too embarrassed to tell you mine is held together by safety pins. Crafty people might cringe, but so far it works for me.

Bonus for safety pin users, you can remove the ruffles when you need to clean it.
This was fun, and when people ask where I got it, I can say I made it. And its pretty.
*Thanks to Mismatcherie for posting the How To instructions.

Nice job with the safety pins. Very cute! There is something to be said about “temporary” ruffles, especially when you need to clean the sweater. I think the next time you are home, your Mom should teach you some “needle and threading” at least for emergencies….
Love the temporary aspect to this, not only do you get an additional ‘look;, you also have an easier way to take care of it for cleaning. You did a great job!

Your version looks great, and the safety pins are a genius idea!
How adorable! S you have inspired me to doll up some of my old cardigans! So chic!
