Welcome to Paisley Petunia…part two!

I find inspiration in pretty pictures, endless possibilities in a bowl of Meyer lemons, the meaning of lifetime devotion in the wagging tails of our 3 rescue dogs, end-of- the-day bliss in a glass of red wine and now, the boundless, soul clutching meaning of life in the faces of my 2 little angels.

It's a happy, creative, joy-full life we've got here in the LA sun. Come play! Bring wine.

Coming up roses.

One of the first things S and discovered we had in common was a love of vintage shopping. We both j’adore vintage fashion and thrifting for treasures at shops and flea markets. It was such a treat last year to take a trip through the infamous rose bowl market with the super gifted stylist-designer Eddie Ross. We learned a lot about finding diamonds in the rough and we became fast friends with Eddie and Jaithan. So of course we jumped at the chance to do the whole thing all over again this year.  Click here to visit Eddie’s blog and check to see if he and Jaithan are visiting a market near you. They are just too wonderful for words and you will enjoy it immensely.

S was on the hunt for a vintage bar cart…bingo! This has major potential and S will def show us the final outcome once she gives it some TLC.

I am always looking for elegant, unusual pieces for tabletops and entertaining. Last year, I was completing my pink glass collection (which I use to set an unusual, pastel hued Thanksgiving table.)

This year I’ve moved on to antique linens and sun glass. (Sun glass is clear depression glass which turns the most gorgeous pale purple when exposed to sunlight.) It’s beautiful but usually very expensive (ps: there is a whole debate amongst antique and pattern glass dealers that sun glass is fraudulent and ruining the integrity of patterned glass and blah blah blah but I love it so whatev!) I found this stand out, two piece, punch bowl and almost died when the vendor accepted my offer.

The flea market is ripe grounds for picture taking and so my camera had a workout for sure.  There were loads of springy things and my head was spinning at the beautiful Easter + Passover tables I could create…

Just look at you gorgeous people! What fun you all had. I love that bar cart and all the fabulous photos. I am a scout and love adding to my collection. I wonder what these sales will look like in a 100 years. It seems that these objects will be harder and harder to come by.
I will see if I have some photos to share.
