Welcome to Paisley Petunia…part two!
I find inspiration in pretty pictures, endless possibilities in a bowl of Meyer lemons, the meaning of lifetime devotion in the wagging tails of our 3 rescue dogs, end-of- the-day bliss in a glass of red wine and now, the boundless, soul clutching meaning of life in the faces of my 2 little angels.
It's a happy, creative, joy-full life we've got here in the LA sun. Come play! Bring wine.

Malibu Wines
My best friend Alexis and I have known each other since our parents introduced us at age 12. That’s a lot of birthdays, graduations, summers at the Lake, a wedding (hers) and countless sleepovers. A few years ago, we instated a best friend rule – instead of material gifts we will give one another “experiences” to do together. It was my good fortune that Alexis and her husband decided to live in Southern California around the same time that I did. Together we have gone to concerts at the Bowl, plays at the Pantages, cemetery movie screenings, cooking classes, dinners at fancy restaurants and soon a historical food tour of the Farmers Market. Needless to say, its provided us with really fun adventures all over this great city. Together.
For my last birthday, Alexis treated to a day of wine tasting at Malibu Wines. We even let the boys tag along too.
Malibu Wines is a wonderful little treasure tucked up in the windy hills above Malibu. In a large grassy, shaded area, there are numerous picnic tables with umbrellas for you to claim for the afternoon and soon a musical act started to serenade us(and the other 30 people there). Alexis picked up a delectable picnic from Blue Table in Calabasas on her way over the hill. You simply order a flight of wine tastings or grab an (affordable) bottle from one of two local wineries, Semler and Saddlerock. They provide the glasses and they’re yours to keep.
It was a lovely sunny spring day. We ate, we drank and then we played a competitive game of horseshoes.
Recipe for a perfect LA day: top down cruise up the PCH, a sunny day in the hills, delicious eats + libations, a comfy Adirondack chair, some horshoes and good friends.

ahhh how cute! what a great post…
What a wonderful idea for gifting, it eliminates unwanted & unnecessary presents that would collect dust, replacing them with fun times and beautiful memories!
Sending you a smile,
tp
Want to go here next time I am visiting!
What a great time with great friends! You can’t put a price on that!
I totally agree. Tyson and I threw my mom’s graduation party here and it was a blast! Next time you make it there call us! We live 10 minutes away from there.
