Welcome to Paisley Petunia…part two!

I find inspiration in pretty pictures, endless possibilities in a bowl of Meyer lemons, the meaning of lifetime devotion in the wagging tails of our 3 rescue dogs, end-of- the-day bliss in a glass of red wine and now, the boundless, soul clutching meaning of life in the faces of my 2 little angels.

It's a happy, creative, joy-full life we've got here in the LA sun. Come play! Bring wine.

TOMS

{the big announcement by Chief Shoe Giver Blake Mycoskie}

{TOMS eyewear}

{one for one [glasses or sight-saving surgery]}

{I wore my favorite TOMS}

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend the TOMS: Not Just Shoes Anymore event with my friend Donna. TOMS, if you aren’t familiar, are a simple slip on shoe that comes in a myriad of designs and colors. For each pair you buy, they give a pair to a child in need. One for One.

So simple. So effective. It’s their business plan. And so far, they have given out over 1 million pairs of shoes all over the world. There is a lot of research as to why shoes are important – to prevent disease, to allow children to attend school, and the basic need to cover the soles of your feet.

But now TOMS is more than just shoes. They revealed their new eyewear line. One for One. For each purchase (styles range in price from $135-$145), TOMS will donate a pair of prescription eyeglasses to help someone see, provide medical treatment or sight-saving surgery. TOMS partners with a local organization to do the work abroad and they are starting in Nepal, Cambodia and Tibet. Read more about it here.

As someone who works for a nonprofit and believes in the power of cause marketing, I salute TOMS for their dedication to helping others. Doing well by doing good. One for One.

  1. Kerry Cunningham says:

    I like the blue and white stripe Toms. I wonder if your Aunt Lisa carries those.
